Year in Review: 2016

As 2016 comes to a close, we’re taking a look back at the incredible year of growth we’ve had at the IBA. The face of our organization has seen quite a few changes in these last 12 months. From the new executive leadership of Zach Wilcha, to our colorful brand refresh, to our hiring of a second full-time staffer, and the election of a new slate of board members, we couldn’t be more proud of the invigorated direction that the IBA is taking. We’ve helped more businesses than ever, with membership growing at the fastest rate in 10 years, and the addition of standout companies like Borgata and City Fitness to our award-winning corporate partnership program. Our renowned networking and premier events have grown in both recognition and attendance, thanks to the work of our dedicated events committee and staff. We have ramped up our community impact with new awards and programming. We were so proud to be recognized by DVLF with the Nonprofit HEROES award, and by the NGLCC for Excellence in Community Impact.

As we enter our 10th year, we have no plans to slow down. We remain committed to our mission of providing access, opportunities, and resources for LGBT businesses and professionals in Greater Philadelphia. We can’t wait to share all of the exciting new opportunities we have planned for our members this year.

Now more than ever, we must continue to build the IBA community as a welcoming space, helping to create opportunities for our members, and supporting our Community Partners and other marginalized communities. While we will face great challenges in a new political climate, it is with renewed purpose, strength, and compassion that we will unite and fight to ensure that vital spaces and resources continue to exist for our community.

On behalf of the IBA Staff and Board, thank you for your support of the IBA. Our members are the heart of organization, and we can’t wait to share another year with each of you.
