Another landmark victory for LGBT people has been added to a year of historic change in our nation. Thank you for doing your part to help the LGBT business movement reach this moment:
The Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) passed the Senate yesterday in a 64-32 vote!
Our voice has been heard this year:
- Through our members, the IBA showed that small business owners want an ENDA.
- We worked together with the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC) through Americans for Workplace Opportunity.
- Along with other local affiliate chambers, the IBA participated in a letter from the NGLCC to key senators, demanding a full Senate vote.
Watch this video from the White House on why ENDA is important not only to President Obama but also to the core values of the American people. Discrimination is “bad for business.”
Congratulations and stay tuned for further updates on efforts to getting it passed in the House–and into law!
