IBA Named 2014 Chamber of the Year!

The Independence Business Alliance (IBA), the Greater Philadelphia Region’s LGBT Chamber of Commerce, is excited to announce that it has been honored with the 2014 Chamber of the Year Award at the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC)’s 2014 National Business & Leadership Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada. Rich Horrow, IBA President, Tom Cavanaugh, IBA Executive Administrator, and other IBA members were present at the convention to receive the award on behalf of the Independence Business Alliance.

NGLCC recognized IBA as a role model for other chambers and an example of what an LGBT chamber should be. Through its monthly networking ConnX and Women In Business (WiB) programs and corporate partnerships, the IBA understands that a chamber of commerce provides introductions with members and other local businesses, big or small, while supporting the community with volunteering and scholarships.

The IBA was founded to provide opportunities, access and resources to LGBT professionals and allies in the Greater Philadelphia area. To promote financial growth, diversity and leadership in our region, the IBA is committed to expanding the economic interests of LGBT-owned and allied businesses through advocacy, education, and partnerships with the local business community.

On Tuesday, August 19th, 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM at Tavern on Camac, 243 South Camac Street, Philadelphia, the ConnX and WiB networking events will combine to celebrate this achievement with all members (and prospective members). Please mark your calendars and look out for more information!
