How many years have you been with company or in business?

3

What company or organization you respect most and why?

I really respect what Yasmine Mustafa is doing with her company, ROAR. Their wearable device and app aim to make the world a safer place. They are a B Corp and they give a portion of their proceeds to educational programs that help to reduce domestic violence and sexual assault.

Which business leader or innovator do you most want to emulate and why?

Having bootstrapped my own business, and a lot of other things in life, I really respect Daymond John’s hustle. He started from the bottom and worked his way up to being a very successful entrepreneur.

What is the most important business decision you’ve made to date?

Deciding to find a business partner rather than continuing to work on my own.

What is the most important life decision you’ve made to date?

Taking more control over my own destiny by starting my own business.

When and why did you join the IBA?

We recently joined IBA because community engagement is a cornerstone value of our company.

I’ve been out as a lesbian since I was 15 years old. Nearly 20 years ago I helped to start the first LGBT student group at my high school and a support group for LGBT teens in my hometown. I’ve always tried to make time to support the community.

Since joining the IBA, what has been the greatest advantage to you and your business being a member of the Chamber?

Building up a network.

What is your proudest moment, honor, or achievement?

More than 60% of our team are typically being labeled as minorities in tech. Being able to accomplish this is unheard of in the tech community especially.

What programs, outreach, or organizations are you involved in that give back to the community?

I co-organize The Philly Junto Meetup, a meetup group with more 1400+ members.  We create networking opportunities, host guest speakers, and offer workshops for entrepreneurs and change-makers.

What is a little known fact about you?

I studied abroad in Singapore and continue to spend a significant amount of time in Southeast Asia. I love to travel whenever I get the chance.

What is your guiltiest pleasure?

Pizza. Always pizza. Chocolate is good too though.

To date, what has been your most favorite vacation spot?

Singapore.

What is the last book you read?

Design to Grow: How Coca Cola Learned to Combine Scale and Agility.
