How many years have you been with company or in business?

What company or organization you respect most and why?

Huge, Inc. They work with global brands and have made even the most pedestrian government websites cool. Plus with eleven offices worldwide they’re, well, huge…

Which business leader or innovator do you most want to emulate and why?

Jonathan Ive. The precision and polish that he inspires has had other designers chasing his tail for years.

What is the most important business decision you’ve made to date?

To apply for and complete the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business Program. For over 23 years, I’ve been teaching myself to be an entrepreneur. What I learned in the fourteen weeks of this program filled in the gaps in my autodidactic business education and helped sharpen key skills that had previously gone undeveloped.

What is the most important life decision you’ve made to date?

To marry my soul mate, Ron Emrich.

When and why did you join the IBA?

We joined in 2010 for the opportunity to expand our business contacts within the LGBTQ community.

Since joining the IBA, what has been the greatest advantage to you and your business being a member of the Chamber?

Networking on a local and national level with some truly spectacular small business. We are also proud to have earned our LGBTBE Certification from the NGLCC.

What is your proudest moment, honor, or achievement?

Moving into our current office space. Quite a step up from the bedroom office we started in…

What programs, outreach, or organizations are you involved in that give back to the community?

I am a member of the board of The Merchants Fund. http://www.merchantsfund.org/ I volunteer my graphic design, photography, and web development skills to my parish, Saint Clement’s Church.

What is a little known fact about you?

I hate beets. Pickled, raw, boiled, fried, blended with booze. I’ve had them in every possible configuration – all gross.

What is your guiltiest pleasure?

Binge watching Jason Statham movies, curled up on the couch with a single malt scotch.

To date, what has been your most favorite vacation spot?

London, the second greatest city on the planet – after Philadelphia of course!

What is the last book you read?

“The Lean Startup”, by Eric Ries.
